How to Boil Silicone Tube at High Temperature

February 15th, 2012 by admin

High temperature silicone, high temperature silicone rubber

Boiling is one of the most commonly used and preferred method for sterilizing silicone tubes. This is because it is a very effective sterilization method. Most living micro-organisms will all die at this high temperature. Boiling takes place at very high temperatures that does not allows this disease causing organisms to thrive. There are many other reasons why boiling is preferred most relating to the overall health concern. By subjecting this material at high temperature, silicone and silicon tubes become safe for use for various industrial purposes. High temperature silicone and silicon tubes are usually preferred in medicine and engineering industries.Silicone often looks very flimsy but that does not means it cannot withstand high temperatures and pressure. In fact the best way to treat and sterilize this material is to subject it to high temperatures. Silicone has wide application in various industries. The material can be used in both medicine and engineering industries. It is also widely used in bottling and industries that makes toys. Industries that reproduce machine parts also depend on silicone for making the mould. In all these industries, high temperature silicone and silicon is preferred because of its safety.Correctly choosing the type of silicone is the first critical step for sterilizing this material by boiling. Silicone comes in various different types all with different temperature ratings. Sterilization is completed by subjecting the tubing to temperatures above its boiling point which is usually about 212 degrees Fahrenheit. At this high temperature, silicone and silicone tubing will be sterilized and safe for use in industrial processes such as in medical and engineering. Although boiling is preferred, it must be correctly done to make it ready for use. Incorrectly boiling the tube will ruin it and cerate great mess.To correctly boil silicone tube, start by choosing a pot which is big enough. You need a pot which is big enough to accommodate the entire silicone tubing. The pot should then be filled with water. This is to allow the tube completely submerged in the water to enhance effective boiling. High temperature silicone and silicon tube boiling should be done at the specified temperature. Silicone comes in different types thus with different temperature rating. So check on the package for the temperature rating of your tubing. Most of them have heat rating of 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

The Benefits of Prince2

February 14th, 2012 by admin

Prince2,Prince2 certification,Prince2 training

The fact is that no matter what size your company or corporation is and what business niche it occupies, it can and will take advantage of the Prince2 management training program. It’s just good sense, and that’s when your project managers possess more advanced skills to oversee projects, your business benefits on multiple levels. Established in 1989 by what is now the UK Office of Government Commerce, what makes this management system study program so different from all the people out there, is it’s certified and approved by the British government. In fact this is the very training program which they use to government managers advanced training. The Prince Management training program was created and based off of rules of an earlier program called PROMPT. A project management oriented training regimen that has been created by Simpact Systems Ltd. back 1975. The training program was used by the CCTA in 1979 until when it absolutely was subsequently replaced by Prince. The Prince program was then improved to the Prince2 (http://www.firebrandtraining.co.uk/courses/management/prince2.asp) program which is what’s now taught today. That upgrade happened back 1996, and in whole some 150 European government and business agencies have contributed to what is now the prince2 training program.

It can best be called going for a structured method of project management, enveloped in a well defined structure where a project is divided into separate quicker identified and managed increments. Project parts if you’ll, that are then done in a step-by-step procedure really is the core foundation of this management program. So step one in the education procedure is for a project manager to achieve certification with what is referred to as the Prince2 basis qualification. This certification means the student includes a complete understanding of the method and basic principles of the Prince2 program. Then up from that, is Prince2 Practitioner Exam what’s known. With this particular test, student’s power for managing and overseeing the project utilizing Prince2 basic principles is assessed. It’s no easy assessment, and in fact statistically some 36% of all training individuals take the three hour test fail. At the same time, although it may be new to them, so much of what the management student reports and comes to eventually learn is really very simple. For example the program shows how to manage a project in group system away from a simple wall mounted storyboard. The first stage is when the controlling supervisor analyzes and breaks up a given project into its separate parts or increments. Second step, is to determine these different parts to individuals or groups in the project team based on the amount of skill and knowledge. The storyboard or venture board is then used to track project areas finally marked off, completed and as they’re followed. In the final stage, all the parts are assembled to form the completed project and gathered together. Once the project has been completed it’s then sent up in the organization as yet a new project is easily mentioned, set up on the board to begin the process all over again.

“Rational Choice Theory” by Phin Upham (Part 3)

February 14th, 2012 by admin

Rational Choice Theory, Phin Upham, Economics

Part 3 of this article on economics by Phin Upham.

If we take the view that RCT are being roughly truthful, and simply being too simplistic, we might internalize more factors from the world and make the model more “realistic.”  Second-cut descriptive models might therefore incorporate, at the expense of mathematical elegance and simplicity, the positing of “quasi-rational motives for individual actors and make the model dynamic with adaptive learning feed-backs.  A third cut descriptive model might try to better understand a richer panoply of human motivations and emotions so that what is deemed ‘quasi-rational’ behavior might indeed be more fully rationalized.” (decision making, p15).

There seem to be two points in which some literature diverges from a classical Rational Choice Theory model with its maximization of ranked preferences and ranked options at its heart and a clear view of the world as its perspective.  The first is the claim that there is no clear way to model a rational way to act, rather we can act in keeping with rationally by acting in many different ways.  Tversky and Kohneman, Simon, Hernstein, Bell, and recent psychological literature (dealing with the importance of peaks and ends) have all suggested that there are many ways to formulate rational behavior.  Tversky and Kohnemon (86), for example, argue that people behave rationally with the stipulation that they are risk adverse with proportionally large sums (to their net worth) and risk hungry with proportionally small sums.  Bell includes some psychological dimensions such as regret and disappointment to the calculus of human decision making.  With competing understandings of rationality we may find that a number seem to make sense without invalidating the meaning of a rational framework.

research chemicals, buy research chemicalsResearch chemical (RC) is a term applied to a broad selection of psychoactive medicines that are unconditionally cost usage in clinical and medical research. Numerous research chemicals are structurally comparable to set up chemicals, and could be thought about to be analogs. In spite of the obvious example with set up compounds, research chemicals fall into a legitimate gray area under UK statute. Considering that the chemicals are marketed place for legitimate purposes (i.e. not for mortal consumption), their possession as well as distribution does not essentially contravene the Analog Act.Research chemicals have certainly not been through clinical testings and happen to be consequently certainly not accepted as sheltered for human consumption. The brief as well as continued protection profiles of their usage happen to be certainly not properly set up in the majority of cases. While research chemicals are regularly offered as happening to be of reagent or analytical grade purity () 95 %), it is certainly not wise to think that this information is necessarily accurate. In recent years the sophistication of the research chemicals supply chain has significantly strengthened. Via concerns of miscommunication, cutting corners to match timelines, and basic human error, supply laboratories have happened to be understood to distribute batches of low high quality and also misrepresented chemicals. While some suppliers take care to ensure the quality of their items using independent investigation, numerous depend entirely upon decree of the supply lab. As a result it happens to be certainly not sheltered to think that every batch of research chemicals happen to be necessarily as described. Conclusive know-how of the design of any analysis chemical batch have the ability to just happen to be obtained as a result of separate investigation In the vacancy of separate investigation, some of the hazards of consuming an unknown batch of a research chemicals can be balanced out by appearing having very careful measures, as well as systematically working up towards the lively measure. By at first dosing every new batch in the mid-microgram variety (200-600µg, 0.2-0.6 mg), also the most effective analysis chemical ought to still happen to be physiologically satisfactory. This lessens the possibilities associated with misrepresented research chemicals. Functioning upwards from this point over the method of many weeks (allowing time for strength to reduce between servings) until the active dose happens to be gotten to happens to be the safest technique for trying a new batch of research chemicals if investigation are able to certainly not be done. “Faith and Knowledge” by Phin Upham

February 7th, 2012 by admin

Philosophy, Phin Upham, Religion, Faith, Knowledge

This article by author Phin Upham originally appeared on the blog Super Philosophy

The relationship between faith and knowledge in Christianity is troublesome.  Some Christian authors deny that knowledge leads to faith, St. Augustine for example felt that his worldly knowledge was a hindrance to his conversion.  Other Christian authors, such as John Donne, believe knowledge and reason is a necessary prerequisite for faith.  Kierkegaard sees the realm of human knowledge and the realm of the divine to be of a different sphere and under different criteria.  Revealed by an exploration of this relationship is the paradoxical and many-faceted nature of Christianity.  Yet all the authors remain under the same umbrella, albeit a large one.  In the plesitude of voices on this issue, with none rising very far above the rest, the flexibility, the ambiguity, the diversity, and the strength of Christianity are illuminated.  Disturbing questions remain:  Are the wise closer to God?  What is the difference between worldly knowledge, scriptural knowledge, and divine knowledge? What does a Christian need to know in order to believe?  Why does the word knowledge have a silent k?

When You Need Medicaid

February 2nd, 2012 by admin

Insurance is something that everyone should be investing in. This is what we are going to rely on when we need to find a way to pay for the hundreds of dollars of medical bills that we have to take care of. If we break a bone or have to be admitted to the hospital than we need a way to pay for it all. Seeing as how most of us do not make enough in our every day jobs to do this.

When you are not able to afford it than you will need to find something else that is going to help. In the end you should pick up a Medicaid application that is going to help. In order to get this you will need to go by your health department. Try to make an appointment so that you will not be sitting around the whole day waiting your turn.

The day you call to make an appointment you should ask them what information you will need to bring along. That way you will be able to try and get it all worked on and submitted in the same day. This is going to make the process a whole lot faster for you.

Many people want to know how to apply for Medicaid so that they will be able to get approved. This really depends on the financial information that you have to provide to them. If they think that you make even a cent too much than you will be denied. Do not try to hide anything from them and hope that they will approve you within a few weeks time.

Human Happiness (Part 2)

February 2nd, 2012 by admin

Phineas Upham, Philosophy

Part 2 of an essay on philosophy by author Phin Upham.

Thus as far as the group of living men are living men they can be considered supremely happy, but in as far as we consider them within the group of human beings they are merely blissful.  In this formulation, human beings is being used as an abstract, more basic, categorization that living beings.  It is that we are human beings that makes us what we are, and a quality, though a necessary quality, of our being in that state is that we are living.  A prisoner who cries “you cannot do this to a living being” is making a substantially different claim than the prisoner who cries “you cannot do this to a human being.” In the first case the crucial fact is that they ought to stop because he is living and a person – thus there is some fact about his being human with the quality with a certain quality – that of being alive – that they ought to take into consideration.  In the second plea, he is making a more philosophical claim.  He is appealing to his status as a certain type of being.  He is a human being and this status, this classification, entitles him to a kind of treatment he is not receiving.  It is not some facet or some quality of his that he is appealing to, it is to raw fact , that he is appealing.

Once this distinction is made, Aristotle’s claim becomes more sensical.  In as far as we are living humans we may possess the quality of being supremely happy along with the quality of being alive.   But in as far as we are human beings, we are blissful.  Blissfulness is a state, but a quality.  I believe Aristotle’s distinction between living humans and human beings is one of perspective.  Within different perspectives, different characterization, or labels, may be appropriate or not appropriate.  To return to our old example of the planets in the sky:  It would be appropriate to say that the “the celestial objects visible in the sky are beautiful”, but it would be less appropriate to say that “celestial objects with a certain mass are beautiful” even though the sentences, according to our assumptions, are the same.  The sentence  “celestial objects with a certain mass are beautiful”  is as disturbing to the reader as a sentence containing a mixed metaphor.  There seems to be something inappropriate about saying that the mass of a planet confers the quality of beauty to it.  The mass of a planet is a fact, being visible in the sky is a quality.  To link a quality to a quality seems natural.  Thus, the fact of being a human being, like the fact of having a certain mass, is more naturally linked with a state – such as the state of being a planet or being blissful.  Similarly, the quality of being visible in the sky, like the quality of being a living human is more natural when linked to other qualities such as being beautiful or being perfectly happy.

The most general point to be drawn form this analysis is one of the function of description.  The function of categorizing something according to a crucial fact is in order to classify it.  The function of saying something has a certain quality is, with additional facts, to be able to derive another quality from that information.  So a flower with the quality of having a certain scent also has the quality of causing pleasure to a human being.  This is only a beginning of the analysis to unpack this sentence, but it does suggest, at least on the intuitive level, what Aristotle’s distinction between “human being” and “living human” might have been to warrant the two such different treatment.

New science says freshly squeezed orange juice may have microbes

January 27th, 2012 by admin

Orange juice, contamination, science, health

Scientists from the University of Valencia in Spain have recently concluded a rather interesting new health science study. By analyzing juicers and squeezing machines in a number of cafes and catering establishments, they were able to examine the level of bacterial presence in the juice that these machines produced. While it’s almost a given that a few of the machines will be dirtier than is acceptable, the level of overall bacterial contamination may surprise you.

The scientists examined the orange juice that came out of the machines and found that 43% of the samples exceeded the legally allowable level of contamination. While one or two machines may have represented an allowable anomaly, 43% is a number that is far too high for comfort. They recommend that oranges be handled properly, that juicers be thoroughly cleaned a properly maintained, and that fresh-squeezed juice be served immediately rather than being stored.

Orange juice is a common beverage in many places, and though it is often served from sealed jugs or made from a concentrate, many catering services and high end restaurants make it a point of pride to squeeze their own juice. Likewise, many private individuals have juicers or similar devices in their own homes, meaning that this new science may serve to help a great number of people.

The type of bacteria that proved to be the most common source of contamination is called the enterobacteriaceae family; a family that contains a number of food-borne pathogens, including salmonella and e-coli. What’s more, Staphylococcus aureusand Salmonella cultures were found in 1% and 0.5% of the samples respectively. Storing the juice for any significant amount of time only makes it worse; when the juice had been stored in jugs, a shocking 81% of the tested samples were found to have too much enterobacteriaceae bacteria. Note that when the juice was immediately served, that number dropped all the way down to 22%.

The science behind these levels of contamination is really not all that surprising. Juicers and mixers have a lot of moving parts and are designed with a great deal of surface area. They also have a lot of holes and corners. All of these characteristics can easily provide a haven for bacteria is they are not routinely and thoroughly cleaned. The oranges that are passed through the machines, even if they’ve been properly handled, will pick up the bacteria and transmit it to the people who drink the juice.

Orange juice fans need not despair however; the benefits of drinking orange juice are well documented and the drink itself won’t be going anywhere. However, a few precautionary measures ensure that those who insist on having their beverages freshly squeezed need not concern themselves with contamination.

Great pains need to be taken to make sure that juicers are properly cleaned and disinfected. After juicing an orange, it’s generally better to consume it right away rather than storing the drink for a long time. However, should you want to store the drink, make sure that the container it’s in has also been properly washed and disinfected.
