A Boss Who Has Not Mastered Simple Things

Ever wonder why despite being in authority, most bosses fail when in total command? This is because instead of being respected, they are just plainly feared. And these two words are poles apart. When you are feared, everyone acts like robots, doing just everything within he boss’ rulebook. Departing from it is like saying goodbye to the job you have held into for the longest time. People develop the sense of routine and this does not allow them to think out of the box or use what they have that might be helpful to the organization due to one glaring reason–fear. These kind of supervisors more often than not have the highest team attrition rate not only within the company but also within the industry. And you might be even surprised that these superiors does not know the basics and might even ask for help with microsoft excel or even be updated and needs help with microsoft excel 2007. On the other hand, being respected can give not only the employers, but the employees a different sense of value and peace. Knowing that they are working with someone who cares about their welfare and their opinions will make them work harder and these work ethics will yield better results in the future. Sometimes, all it takes for one person to keep going or even take the first single little step is to be inspired and mentored by a boss who does not claim to have mastered everything, but a person who wants to impart key learnings to you and only hopes for the best. In a world where bosses are hated, finding a good one is like finding a golden bar inside a shipwreck which sank hundred years ago amidst the sea of Barbados.
