F&F: Formulas and Functions in Microsoft Excel

Mathematics has not been my favorite subject. Algebraic expressions would always confuse my mind and Statistics? Let’s just say I try to get the best Math partner so that he can explain it to me. I guess when I need to review for an exam; I will usually need a study group in order for them to discuss why the equation was done that way and not the way that I have done.
Now that I am part of the real world i.e. the working force, I had to face the music that Mathematics will play a major role in my career.
I have been doing basic accounting work and maintaining spreadsheets that contain formulas in it. The good thing is that some of the formulas where already preset and I just need to fill in the information required but when I am being asked to create my own spreadsheet; I had to work doubly hard.
Since the data I use requires a lot of counting. I always end up using the formula ‘Countif’. I get my help with if statement in excel either from the help tab or online.
The step-by-step instruction including the example is very helpful because I tend to do the examples first before eventually using my own data.
In working on a very large data, help with excel functions are always useful. Instead of doing a formula for summing up the figures in your spreadsheet, you can use the sum icon (∑). There are a lot of excel functions that can be use and in various ways too, you just need to check the help topics either online or offline to gain more information about this.
Now, creating and maintaining spreadsheets is like a walk in the park.
